ALBERTA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation inspires our community to invest in excellence in child health, research and family-centred care. As the official fundraising body for the Alberta Children’s Hospital, all money raised by the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation is re-invested in the hospital and child health needs in this region. Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to provide funding for family-centred child health programs, specialized life-saving equipment and advanced pediatric research and education at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation is honoured to work with the dedicated team of caring professionals at our hospital and even prouder to be part of a community that shares in the vision of a healthier future for our children.

Trellis (Fo

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary is to provide a safe, supportive space where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. For more than 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary has carried on a tradition of helping young people to discover, develop and achieve their full potential as adults, citizens and leaders, by engaging them in activities that challenge and enrich their minds, bodies and spirits and nurture their self-esteem. Our safe, caring Club environments and enriching programs have enabled thousands of young Calgarians to play, learn and develop valuable skills for life.

CLASSROOM CHAMPIONS

Every kid has what it takes. But many kids in underserved communities face challenges that negatively impact their education experience, classroom resources and culture, physical and mental health, personal development, and academic achievement. To help ensure every child has an opportunity to reach their potential, we work in partnership with teachers and local education districts to connect Olympians, Paralympians, Hopefuls, College Student-Athletes, and Pro Football Players with students in grades K-8. We provide a new kind of mentorship that scales to provide students with a voice. We engage and inspire them to develop the critical social-emotional skills they need for success both in, and out, of the classroom.

We believe in the boundless potential of young people and share their passion for excellence, respect their talents and creativity, celebrate their honesty and integrity, and create opportunities for hands-on learning.

TRELLIS

Trellis is a Calgary-based social services agency that grew from the amalgamation of Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary and Aspen Family & Community Network Society on June 15, 2020. Growing from a combined history of 117 years, Trellis is building on the work of both legacy organizations to offer a comprehensive continuum of 33 programs for over 9,000 people each year designed to support children, youth, families and communities. The programs and services offered open a path upward for people from all sorts of backgrounds, including those caught at the intersection of society’s most complex needs.

We work to end youth and family homelessness and create spaces for belonging and exploration in our community. We provide education and employment connections and ensure a safe home environment for youth and children whether that be through foster care, group care or in their own home. And we support deeper connections by meeting people where they are, across all cultures, languages and diversity spectrums. Trellis is committed to empowering individuals and communities with the support they need to grow beyond life’s challenges and reach their dreams.

CALGARY POLICE YOUTH FOUNDATION

The Calgary Police Youth Foundation (legal name Calgary Police Foundation) has a purpose to educate children and youth about good citizenship, safe communities, policing and avoiding victimization and criminality. We do this by supporting six programs provided by the Calgary Police Service and other community partners that focus on crime prevention, education, early intervention and risk reduction. These programs target areas where the need is the greatest and help us create a community where all children and youth have the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

KIDS CANCER CARE

Kids Cancer Care is passionately dedicated to helping young people, and their families, affected by cancer to survive and thrive in body, mind and spirit. KIDSPORT CALGARY

KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. 1 in 3 kids cannot afford the cost of organized sports. Our mission is to change that! KidSport is a national non-profit organization that provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport. KidSport provides financial assistance for registration fees for organized sport programs and provides access to equipment for kids up to the age of 18.

THE PREP SOCIETY

The PREP Society for individuals with Down Syndrome (PREP) is where families, who have a child with Down Syndrome, find expert advice, innovative services, and best of all, hope, for their child’s future. The goal is inclusion for life — that begins in the home, continues at school, then leads to an independent life with a meaningful job. Parents connect in a welcoming, supportive community that accepts their child’s disability, yet challenges them to expect more. PREP partners with government, community sponsors, and individual donors to provide education, therapy and family support services that enable each child to achieve his or her own unique potential and help parents become their child’s best advocate. At PREP it is all about inclusion for life and it is happening in Calgary first!
