The Clay Riddell Community Hero Scholarship was created in 2019 to honor youth who exemplify all of the traits that Mr. Riddell lived by – leadership, integrity and generosity. The award will be given annually to up to two deserving youth heroes that have been nominated by a participating Birdies for Kids charity. The young heroes will be presented with the award during the championship trophy ceremony by a representative from the Riddell Family.

Applicants must be nominated by a 2020 participating Shaw Birdies for Kids charity.

The award includes a physical trophy and a $7,500 post-secondary scholarship for any college or university degree.

The Clay Riddell Community Hero Scholarship supports students entering post-secondary in the next three years. The nominee must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Exemplify leadership, integrity and generosity.
  • Be entering their first year of studies within three years of nomination.
  • Be in good academic standing for acceptance to technical school, college or university.
