Theatre Alberta is dedicated to the growth and development of the Alberta theatre community. We are committed to achieving this mandate by providing responsive and quality programs, services, and advocacy that serve and unite the professional, amateur, and educational theatre constituencies in Alberta.

Theatre Alberta is proud to host Artstrek, a summer theatre school for teens. Since 1960, Artstrek has had an incredible impact on Alberta’s theatre community, providing teens the opportunity to gather together with professional theatre artists and educators to hone their abilities and develop their craft.

It’s 2022 and Theatre Alberta is delighted to be back at Red Deer Polytechnic—for Artstrek! After a year away and a year online, we are excited to welcome students back IRL with Qui Nguyen’s She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurers Edition. Building on this enthusiasm, this is an opportune moment for us to foster emerging theatre artists in every corner of the province. Funds raised through the #ChipInForKids and Birdies for Kids programs will support Artstrek and other Theatre Alberta programs and services that are designed to grow and enrich the theatre community in the province!
