David Duval, Stewart Cink, Boo Weekley and Notah Begay III Round Out Stellar Field Confirmed for 2023 Shaw Charity Classic presented by Rogers

CALGARY—Former world number one, David Duval, along with three of the top rookies on the PGA TOUR Champions – Stewart Cink, Boo Weekley and Notah Begay III – will round out the 78-man field that is now set for the 11th edition of the Shaw Charity Classic presented by Rogers at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, August 16-20, 2023.

Competing in his second season on the PGA TOUR Champions, Duval is a 13-time winner on the PGA TOUR whose final victory was the 2001 Open Championship. He introduced himself to the world with seven second-place finishes from 1995-1997 after breaking onto the PGA TOUR that included the 1996 Canadian Open, and qualified for the 1996 Presidents Cup where he was undefeated for the Americans. A two-time member of the United States Ryder Cup Team, Duval also posted two, second place finishes at both The Masters and U.S. Open.

Stewart Cink, who turned 50 in May and made his debut on the PGA TOUR Champions at the Senior PGA Championship last month where he placed third, will look to claim his first victory on the senior circuit when golf’s 50 and older group swing into Calgary.

“Some of these guys have been my buddies forever, so to be able to play practice rounds with them and have lunch and sit around and talk, has been awesome,” said Cink. “I just can’t overstate how much joy there is in being able to have a sunset in your career like this one. I still like to grind, I still like to play and compete, the daily pursuit of being my best. But this grind is different. It’s more jovial.”

The eight-time winner on the PGA TOUR, who is remembered most for this 2009 triumph at the British Open where he defeated 59-year-old Tom Watson in a four-hole playoff at Turnberry, Scotland, is sure to put on a show for Calgary golf fans. Cink’s last two victories on the PGA TOUR came in 2021. He has two top-10 finishes in as many starts on the PGA TOUR Champions.
