All Star Lineup of Hockey Stars to Compete for $250,000 in Spectator-Friendly Charity Competition
CALGARY—An all-star lineup of current and former hockey players will be swapping their sticks for golf clubs to compete in the inaugural Rogers Legends of Hockey Charity Skins Game on Saturday, August 19 at the Shaw Charity Classic. The special competition, held in conjunction with the second round of the PGA TOUR Champions tournament, will see hockey’s stars competing for $250,000 to donate to charity.
Four teams of two players will battle for prize money in the nine-hole alternate shot skins game format. Each team will play for a different one of the 272 charities participating in the Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink program on each hole. The unique, spectator-friendly golf exhibition will tee off on the 10th hole, 30 minutes after the final group in the second round of official tournament play at approximately 2:45-5:15 p.m. at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club.
The following four-person teams feature a mix of NHL Players, NHL Alumni, Olympic women’s stars, and Legends of Hockey:
