Shaw Charity Classic Statement on Cancellation of 2021 RBC Canadian Open
It is unfortunate to hear about the cancellation of the 2021 RBC Canadian Open. We are aware of the significant work our friends at Golf Canada and RBC have invested in bringing the PGA TOUR to Toronto in June for our National Championship. That said, the announcement does not have a direct impact on the Shaw Charity Classic. With the 2021 Shaw Charity Classic scheduled to take place August 11-15, we remain optimistic the stars of the PGA TOUR Champions will return to Calgary this summer. We are committed to working with the City of Calgary, Alberta Health and the Government of Canada to find a safe solution to hosting this award-winning tournament in an effort to add to our record-setting $61 million donation over the last eight years for the more than 200 youth-based charitable beneficiaries in Alberta whose need has grown in their continued efforts to improve the lives of children across the province.
